This was one of my very last sessions before I began my maternity leave. I was definitely huffing and puffing a little (OK, or maybe a lot…) while shooting them but they were absolutely adorable and sweet and didn’t even make fun of me! We had a great day for some outdoor family pictures–
And then we took the girls inside to get a few shots of just them…
These girls are so stinking cute together. I am pretty sure they’re going to grow up to be best of friends. <3
After shooting so many toddlers, sometimes it’s nice to have a break and shoot a few subjects that will sit still for you! I had so much fun with these two– they came from Iowa (!!) to see me and we played around in downtown Madison…
There was supposed to be another shot with the chalkboards.. they had something written on the other side of them (wedding date, I believe?). However, I’m sorry to say they were injured in a very-pregnant-photographer-tipping-over-whilst-taking-a-shot accident and unfortunately didn’t make it out alive… OH boy was that embarrassing. So much so that I feel the need to share the story with everyone reading this– haha! Sorry again guys! xoxo
There’s just something romantic about sitting in a dead field at sunset…. hehe. Mark & Erin were so great to work with and I look forward to their wedding coming up in May!!
This young lady is Ellie, and she was the sweetest little thing! And bursting with personality too! Photographing little ones is always quite the adventure.. you never know what they’re gonna throw at you– one second it’s the sweetest smile, the next a super silly face. I love the challenge of catching all those fleeting moments & range of expressions.

We also did some shots outside with the whole family (Howie the dog included!) but BRRRRRR was it cold! Thank you lovely Wisconsin for that!
It was so great to get together with the ‘A’ family again for this session! It was a crazy beautiful afternoon for being NOVEMBER. In WISCONSIN. (Or maybe I was just warm due to being nearly 9 months pregnant…. ?? haha!) These guys were so much fun to work with and made my job easy!!
This handsome little guy was just about to turn one, so of course we had to get a few birthday shots in!

Claire had been waiting the entire session to get her hands on those balloons… and off she ran with them 🙂
This mama and I go way back.. and I was so excited when she contacted me to shoot her family! They were troopers to meet me so early in the morning and deal with the outrageous cold weather– but we were all rewarded for our efforts with a delicious hazy pink sunrise! There is just something about that early morning light that is so magical to me.
I’m not sure how they managed to coordinate these first outfits so perfectly with the morning sky, but I LOVED it!! The kids did so great considering the cold, and we even managed to get an outfit change in there and take advantage of some lingering fall colors….
Loved everything about this session– such a beautiful, sweet family <3
