Madison WI Family and Child Photography – Ellie & Family

This young lady is Ellie, and she was the sweetest little thing!  And bursting with personality too!  Photographing little ones is always quite the adventure.. you never know what they’re gonna throw at you– one second it’s the sweetest smile, the next a super silly face.  I love the challenge of catching all those fleeting moments & range of expressions.

This girl just cracks me up…..

We also did some shots outside with the whole family (Howie the dog included!) but BRRRRRR was it cold!  Thank you lovely Wisconsin for that!

 

Madison WI Family Photographer – ‘A’ Family Session

It was so great to get together with the ‘A’ family again for this session!  It was a crazy beautiful afternoon for being NOVEMBER.  In WISCONSIN.  (Or maybe I was just warm due to being nearly 9 months pregnant…. ?? haha!)  These guys were so much fun to work with and made my job easy!!

This handsome little guy was just about to turn one, so of course we had to get a few birthday shots in!

Gotta love those early wobbly steps <3Claire had been waiting the entire session to get her hands on those balloons… and off she ran with them 🙂

 

 

Madison WI Family Photography – Sunrise Family Session!

This mama and I go way back.. and I was so excited when she contacted me to shoot her family!  They were troopers to meet me so early in the morning and deal with the outrageous cold weather– but we were all rewarded for our efforts with a delicious hazy pink sunrise!  There is just something about that early morning light that is so magical to me.

I’m not sure how they managed to coordinate these first outfits so perfectly with the morning sky, but I LOVED it!! The kids did so great considering the cold, and we even managed to get an outfit change in there and take advantage of some lingering fall colors….

Loved everything about this session– such a beautiful, sweet family <3

Madison WI child photography – 3 year birthday session – Hazel, Hazel, Hazel…….

This little lady is a big ol’ ball of energy!  Hazel is a super sweet little girl, but honestly I don’t think she sat still for more than about 2 seconds at a time for our whole session…. well, except when she was hiding behind my backdrop stand, now that I think about it.  And she had all her own ideas about posing too.

I’m sure a lot of parents wonder if their kids will cooperate or if the session will just be an utter failure.  Well, even though I think mom left this one needing a glass of wine (or two!)– I was able to sneak in plenty of sweet shots for her.  Sorry Hazel, you may be 3 and full of energy…. and I may be ‘old’ and pregnant…. but I think I still won this one.

Of course she did give me plenty of silliness too…

This was one of Hazel’s poses… I think it turned out pretty cute!

It’s kind of entertaining to watch how fast you can go from this……..To this…….And just because this makes me laugh….. the very last shot from our session.  She definitely let us know when she was done!I had a blast Hazel…. we should do this again sometime!   xoxo.

Madison WI baby photography – Hadley’s first birthday session!

This pretty little girl came to see me on a dreary rainy morning.  We were really hoping to get some shots outside, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be!  At least I got to put my new studio room to the test… and I have to say I rather enjoyed having a dedicated space to shoot in rather than having to dismantle my entire living room. Especially since I am now about a hundred months pregnant and moving heavy furniture just doesn’t sound all that appealing!

As you can see she was full of smiles despite the rainy day 🙂  And she even gave us some obligatory birthday tutu shots…

OK stoppit now.. you are just TOO cute..

We finished up the session with one last outfit change.  Hadley was doing AMAZING and didn’t complain at all!  Unbelievable!

OK I fully admit I have a thing for baby eyelashes.

This little cupcake book made Hadley ridiculously happy.  I love how little ones get such joy out of the simplest things!
